Most important think: the family of the victim wasn't contacted for the making of this movie. So just for this fact alone you should avoid it and watch YouTube videos explaining the case if you really that interested. I remember when the media would talk about this case every day for years, so I watched the movie thinking of understanding better the story.. my mistake. The production quality is good enough, but some actors look straight out of cheap telenovelas. All in all the movie is not to bad and I would recommend it if wasn't for the first point I mentioned.

Exceptional movie about the process of catching a pedophile/ murderer. Amazing how far we've gone towards getting criminals using DNA. Keeps your attention throughout.

First of all, it was based on true story so no disrespect to the victims of their family, but the trial was amateurs af , only reason they had to charge the guy was a Google search called"women with shaved *", somehow the defendant had much better logics than the victims.very poor acting and a terrible choice of story. I normally don't write reviews in Netflix produced movies cz their movies always suck, but I couldn't help but write this one. Shame on Italy, shame on Netflix too.

Good actors, very nicely done. I have to think about the suspect, and how he having three girls himself is able to commit such crime. I also read that the trainer at the sports center match the blood found on Yara's jacket, and why she was crying the night of Yara disappearance? No rape, is also the big elephant in the room. I'm not trying to excuse this man, but many things unsaid, inconclusive.

I don't know how true to events this is, as a movie it's decent. The differences in US and Italian laws are vast. Lots of head-scratchers for us Yankees. That being said, the case itself is unacceptable. It is built around DNA matching with no actual evidence, motive, or witnesses. The prosecutors case is purely speculative. It's hard to believe someone got convicted in this case if it is true to actual events.
