The Surprise Visit

With just five characters, this film is more or less entertaining, although it seems of been an episode of a TV series that should have lasted about 45 minutes, but that the writers stretched it to fit into the format of a feature film. Thus, the lack of synthesis and the excessive length of some scenes make interest decline as the outcome approaches. The story is a typical cat-and-mouse trap and as soon as the chase is raised, the rhythm of the plot, instead of stimulating viewer's attention, collapses to a very predictable ending. In this way, the visit becomes more of a lethargy than a surprise. Correctly acted by an efficient cast, however, it has its greatest weakness in the participation of Eric Robert. The veteran actor plays again his own person and grandiloquently recites his lines, as if his performance depended not on a director but on himself. It can be seen but you have to make a great effort to avoid falling asleep. Spoiler In the fourth act, a woman's leg sustains a deep wound that requires a strong tourniquet to stop the bleeding. But in the following shots, the character, as if by magic, is already recovered and doesn't even limp holding a shotgun.

I just got done watching the surprise visit and I must say I see some up and coming new a listers out of this tom cruise is getting old that meth head boy is taking over and the slo meth head girlfriend definitely is the next julia Robert's.... and Eric Robert's is the next Denzel Washington.

Film Threat cites the "spectacular" location cinematography, and straightforward plot, which culminates in a "climactic and deadly game of hide-and-seek." Nate Haban & Ross Headley are getting great reviews on the cinematography & camera work. You gotta see this on the big screen.

Beautiful scenery and a tense storyline based on a true event. Serah Henesy steals the show. The pursuit scenes will have you on edge- the ending is not what I would have hoped for but... that is the nature of events. Worth a watch.

The beginning of the movie says based on Truth. So the plot wasn't ill-conceived; is it what it is. But the very ending doesn't make sense. If the story is true, how can it end with the "3 years later" scene that it does? 🤔 More needs to be explained. Moral: Don't smoke Crack.

Bravo 👏 This movie was shot in the thick of the pandemic before vaccines & on a limited budget, (wow) yet watching the film, I was not denied the comforts of beauty & empathy I search for in any worthwhile movie. Serah Henesey, Jacqi Vene, Rob Riordan, Johnny Santiago are as pleasing to the eyes as the splendor of the autumn landscapes & decadent dwellings that accompanied these actors into an intense game of hide and seek. Undoubtedly, disturbing decisions were made under the influence of drugs & won ton young love spiraling out of control: to a SURPRISE Ending that I did not see coming !!!!! No spoilers here! Watch it!

I love true stories. If you like movies base on real life. It's 1 you will want to watch. Much better than watch these impossible stunts, impossible story lines. Impossible to follow that make no sense at all that normally starting Tom the nut case Cruise. Take A great 1 of the world's best true story of Barry Seal & turn it into A stupid Cartoon. And kill people over stupid stunt. Why? He is complete nut case job.

I read somewhere they shot this in the middle of the pandemic so they wanted to keep a tight cast & crew. Kudos to the film makers who pulled it off, it's a well made, solid film.

I'm from Virginia & I was told this film captures the beauty of Virginia in the fall so I went to see it on the big screen & it was stunning. It made me proud.
