The Ogglies

I went into this movie with expectations so high that you would think I was snoop dogg. Well Welcome To Smelliville not only lived up to those expectations, but surpassed them so much that nothing could ever make me so happy again then watching this film for the first time. Not even seeing my 9 year old kid win his baseball championship could live up to this moment. I feel obligated now to legally change his name to kid Oglly. That's how much this movie means to me now. I will watch nothing else but this movie from now on. I will eat, sleep, and breath welcome to smelliville. My goal now in life is to fully transform into an oglly. I have sold my home and all my possessions including my son and now moved to the local rubbage dump. Some people have believed me to be dressed as Shrek due to the green skin and I have to a angrily tell them that I am an oglly. I will eventually make the dump into the theme park seen at the end of the film, but for now I am just an ordinary oglly living in the basic rubbage dump eating the banana peels and Chile cans that I find laying around. This is a dream come true. From Oglly 42 year old man.

As a parent I've endured more than my fair share of horrid C-Grade movies. This isn't one of them...it's definitely a high B which could almost border on an A. The animation is very high quality as is the English voice acting - this surprised me a lot given it's originally a German language production which was also recorded in English (if I hadn't of known this going into the cinema I wouldn't have picked it up). The script is well above average and while the story is definitely light-on compared to a Disney or Pixar production it's absolutely watchable.

Me and my parents sat down and watched this movie voluntarily as adults. I was delighted by the fact that I could predict the main three plot points about fifteen minutes before they each took place. It might very well be an excellent script, but I can't really explain why... The voice acting is good and I like the animation. But we has just come off watching "John Carter," so that kind of tells you the mindset that we were in. :D I -- of sound body and mind -- honestly, really enjoyed it.

The movie is based on characters from books by Erhard Dietl - Die Olchis, read and loved by many. The whole story is very exciting and full of funny twists. Go see the movie, you won't regret it.
