This spin off about Ciro is a good movie but not close at TV series, this movie is boring in some scenes, last part of the movie is cool expecially final sequence. My rating is 7/10. A good movie but not a masterpiece like TV show.
I liked the modern story however the flashback story from when Ciro was a kid was boring. Overall the story is predictable, he is the Immortal so you know he won't die and the rest of the new characters that you don't care about will die so essentially there is no progression in the story other than we know Ciro is still alive which we knew at the beginning of the film.
Don't watch if you haven't watched the series Gomorrah. If you have watched Gomorrah series, then you have to watch this movie, simple as that. This movie is the cream on top of the cake, as not only it completes the series but it also helps us understand Ciro as the character he is. It will definitely give you a lot of answers that you might have asked yourself throughout the series.
Rubbish, rubbish rubbish rubbish. I know Ciro is the L'Immortale but how on earth did he escape the dank waters of Naples Bay without those who forced Gennaro to shoot him to notice. Stupid beyond belief, the timeline sucked too
If you're a fan of the series Gomorrah then you'll be disappointed with this. We learn more about Ciro and some of his upbringing but the story doesn't contain much of the bite and suspense the series is so good at.
This movie deserve atleast 7.9 .the story the acting was super, In this movie we get to know ciro more and the ending was wow. Super. I think people who rate the movie bad rates had no idea about the serie. You need to watch the serie before. Can't wait for the next season Gennaro and ciro are back.
Maybe not a top-notch gradation from the beginning as we would like to see but fairly exceptional ending. Marco is as convincing as in the series.
I still loved it, the setting, the scenery, the atmosphere. the music are all superb. The plot could of been better, but who cares Ciro is back.
One word I never expected to use for this movie prior to watching it was 'dreadful'! It truly is that bad. I've watched the four seasons 2-3 times each and have been engrossed in the whole machinations of this underbelly of Neapolitan society. Ciro's arc was easily one of the most engrossing as the ambitious gangster saw his rise and fall due to hubris and a certain naivety. Yet here his role has been downgraded to some brooding teenager. If he's seeking redemption, he's not doing it so well. The film starts off with possibly the most ridiculous comeback since Dallas. I thought that this was going to be a prequel of sorts, but no, and if you've watched the series already then you'll half guess the ending very quickly. The whole story doesn't work. The little Napoli in Riga seemed to be a bit clumsy, with our 'hero' caught in the middle of a local turf war, and he is some kind of "Fistful of Dollars" in-betweener. It doesn't work. In parallel is the backstory part to Ciro which is a bit mixed, but I found it hard to get invested in it. Really this is a very poor spin-off to the show. Few spin-offs ever are any good, and this really proves the point. Very disappointing. With this movie they had such a great opportunity to let Ciro's character develop outwith of the bubble in Naples, yet they just put together a cheap knock-off episode instead. Seriously, this is very much best avoided. I'll now wait for season 5 to come.
It was hard to watch last season of Gomorrah without Ciro. It was my favorite character. But, here there are the good news, Ciro is alive and doing again what he does better, being a broker. The movie itself is far inferior compared with Gomorrah but on the other hand music, acting and scenography are amazing as usual. So, if you're a fan of the series, you're going to enjoy this. The end is fantastic. I can't wait for Gomorrah's new season with Ciro again!
