The Precinct is very much like Ghostbuster, comedy mixed with some jump scares. Overall I quite enjoyed this film. The mystery carries through and the ghosts adds a spooky atmosphere, enhancing the overall tone of the movie The story would have benefited a bit more depth of the ghosts, but overall this movie is lovely and entertaining. I would recommend it to those who like comedy, horror and fantasy.
I had expected something different than this. I had expected more of a comedy, but pretty much got a mild drama along with some ghosts. What we have is a trigger happy cop that can see ghosts. He is saved one day by a recent ghost and because of this he accidentally catches a 'most wanted' criminal. Then because he refuses to change his report which says he was saved by a ghost he gets fired from the regular police and joins the 'ghost police' known as the ninth precinct and then the adventure begins. There really isn't much comedy here, a few funny moments but that's it. Most of the movie is about an investigation of 13 mysterious deaths. And the end is about making peace with the dead so they can move on. It's an OK movie, but don't of out of your way to watch it.
The story has some originality, but in very small doses, and that's actually everything good about this film. Actions within the film are mostly unclear, a lot of inexplicable situations, a lot of senseless situations, a lot of clichéd scenes, generally boring, bad visual effects as well as poorly done sound. What can be noticed is the presence of "traditional" insulting of Christianity (it is not a constant, only about 20 seconds of the film all together, but extremely religiously offensive), but I practically see this in almost every film of their cinematography, so I am not surprised anymore...
Though Korean is my favorite, I like Thai as well, and Roy Chiu is always good. This film is average, but enjoyable with a satisfying and even sweet ending.
Too fantasy and a complicated concept I didn't understand the movie to the point I fell asleep while watching this, it's not that scared and it has too much story. The girl character looks like Nanno that's the reason I stay for this movie. But it was quite enjoyable to watch and I agree to watch this as a pastime but I don't have time lol.
Apparently the 9th precinct ... although that isn't right either of course. And while you may or may not care for the ghosts here or how they are portrayed, the movie is quite funny and scary at the same time (the mixture will either be to your liking or not of course). Have there been better movies of that subject? For sure and the tagged scene during the credits that suggests a sequel will either emphasize your love or hate of the movie! It seems to be making fun of an american (movie) franchise but turns out there is something else this is trying to tell the viewers. I've seen another reviewer being quite harsh, but I understand the sentiment - sometimes we expect something and get something differently.
Highly mediocre acting and story, with a fair amount of cheese, and then some. Im writing this rewiew so that users can get more realistic expectations, mine were way to high after reading the rewiews here. I mean, this is not a bad, bad movie, you can watch it and you will have forgotten it after half an hour. Its worth 1½ hour of youre life if youre tired and bored. In general, the story and the characters feels more like a draft than something ready for the screen and you dont really...care. And then there is some more cheese (so effing much cheese..). Watch it. But only if you got nothing better to do.
