I probably wouldn't have chosen to watch this movie if not for Andrew Lee Potts, who I love. The whole prince or princess incognito theme has been done was way too many times and it's never believable. But the worse part of this movie was the writing. It's was so amateurish, it felt like it was written by two 12 year old girls. Joe Gamina did the best he could with his role, but Manal El-Fetuiry could not hide her British accent coming through again and again as she tried to come off as American. Stefanie Yunger is too weak an actress to play the lead. Oh, and there's no way that final floral arrangement would've won that contest. The other two finalists were beautiful. The "winner" was hideous. What a silly movie...and not in a fun way.
I enjoy Hallmark movies but, as this movie clearly demonstrated, it's not so easy to successfully copy the Hallmark movie making formula. This wannabe production was painful to watch. Truly awful. The plot was beyond ridiculous even for those of us willing to suspend disbelief for these royal/commoner love stories. The leads had zero chemistry, the dialogue was utterly banal, the pacing was awkward, and the "competition" pieces were no more inspired than what is being offered at your nearest supermarket. And yet, Stefanie Rozhko somehow managed to shine. She was adorable and deserves a better showcase. But this movie would have sucked even if Audrey Hepburn had played the Princess. And I actually paid to rent this (because my sister thought it looked good). Ugh.
Boring, and centred on selfish and non-relatable characters that spend the whole film lying to meet the their selfish interests. Very distasteful. Adam the male lead has nothing going for him except bitterness over a failed past relationship and the Princess is completely unlikeable. The other competitors in the contest are stilted and ridiculous. Overall, plain waste of time.
