i will watch and see
very bad movie
.
I loved this movie. Yes there was some not so good acting ut all in all i liked it If you like viking type movies you will like this.
The only thing that I think is strange, is that Frea is a Christian. How could she become one wile living in Denmark with all her people that believe in Odin??
Worst movie I've seen this year, almost everything but the acting is bad about this movie. It's supposed to be a historical epic about the struggle between the Franks and Frysians but manages to look more like a misconstructed fantasy movie. Everybody but the Frysians speak english, including the franks and scandinavians. The script is just childish and doesn't bother with logic or geography. For example, redbad travels back to holland (at least that was the idea). Happens to land in Reims at the exact moment that his sister is there. Even worse all the guards seem to recognize Redbad, while they could never have met him before and they didn't have bloody FB back in those days. The movie is a perfect example of how not to use slowmotion or bombastic music. It is a shame because in itself the movie looks great, but it just shows cracks all over the place.
Actually a way better movie and experience than I expected. Beautifull darkened overview scenes and dark close-ups. Overall moral of the story is also great: freedom of belief and choice. Picture this in a predominantly black and white world-setting and you have an enjoyable movie, albeit a tad long. Great job!
Ok... 5. The pace. By God, this movie took ages. The story could have have easily been told in half the time. 4. The dialogue. The whole movie consisted of cheesy oneliners, and I don't think there was a conversation longer than ten lines throughout the whole movie. 3. The acting. Sorry. 2. The music. The same semi-epic dramatic music plays throughout the whole movie, taking away from whatever emotion or development was actually happening. It is sad, he is a hero, we get it. This actually irritated me the most. 1. The characters. They were so flat, after almost 3 hours I still have no clue who these people are and why they do what they do. Also, plot holes, and a weird ending. But It looked very pretty and viking-y and awesome.
