"Calm Before" had me at the end of my seat the entire time. A fantastic film that had me guessing from beginning to end.
Just marriage drama. If that's what your into then this movie is perfect for you. I expected some kind of a ghost story. Instead it was just a slow paced drama . The acting was so so. An interesting haunting . N.
Got sleep in the middle of moovie..worst acting aand plot..
I like a good slow burn thriller. I hate a glacially paced, poorly directed, sloppily written, amateurishly filmed mess. This one checks all those boxes. Add in a few pointless characters and silly subplots and you have the makings for a real stinker. Three out of ten is generous and is ONLY awarded for a decent performance from the female lead.
Wow, I'd really like that that hour and 49 minutes of my life back if at all possible. Terrible acting, an awkward awful script. Akin to something a high school film class might make. The thought behind it meant there was a possibility of a decent film, Gia's other personalities could have seemed like ghosts in the supposedly haunted house. The paranormal investigator could have noticed her strange behaviour and thought he was finally hunting something spooky. We could have seen her or her husbands infidelities. Instead it's just a lot of cringy, muddled lines and some seriously bizarre set choices (did he really meet the therapist in her she'd at the end so that she could breach patient confidentiality and just hand him over a file?). In fairness, it gave me a few laughs along the way at the sheer ridiculousness. I wouldn't even recommend it as a cringe fest though. Don't waste your time, honestly you'll be left wondering why you didn't follow your gut instinct and turn it off in the first few forced minutes. Don't do it!
This movie was extremely disappointing. Poor plot and character development Poor direction It tricked me into thinking it would be good. I ended up confused at what was going on. I was extremely annoyed by the main character. I felt like the movie was based on her not opening a folder. I just wanted to scream, "Open the damn folder!". I actually did scream that. When she opened it nothing was really explained that wasn't obvious. Furthermore the summary was pretty deceiving too. The story has been done plenty of times. The way it was presented on screen was not very strong or cohesive. I think a script rewrite and a tweak in direction could have saved this film.
This movie started our suspenseful and interesting. As it went on, it unfortunately started to feel very drawn-out and a little bit all over the place. Some people are commenting that the movie didn't make sense - I think it did, but there were too many attempts at cliffhangers and twists and turns that it just lost my interest at some point. I stuck it out until the end but ended up feeling disappointed.
Issac....go find your own GF. Shane was making me sick with his lovevy dovey sweet talk. Movie sucked. Waste of team.
