I had never heard about this 2022 Chinese movie titled "Storm Over Luoyang: Yin and Yang Realm" prior to getting the opportunity to sit down and watch it here in 2023. And I didn't really know what I was in for, so I had no expectations to the movie, which meant that writer and director Dai Yi Lin had every opportunity to impress and entertain me. The storyline in "Storm Over Luoyang: Yin and Yang Realm", as written by Dai Yi Lin, was actually quite good. The narrative was interesting and well-paced. However, the character gallery in the movie was a little bit confusing, to be bluntly honest. But the story provided me with proper entertainment for the 83 minutes that the movie ran for. And isn't that what a movie is supposed to do? The acting performances in the movie were good. I wasn't familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list though. But the actors and actresses put on good performances in bringing both their characters and the story to life on the screen. Visually then "Storm Over Luoyang: Yin and Yang Realm" was a bit of a mixed bag of nuts. The movie does make use of CGI, some of which was rather dubiously rendered. But if you can overcome the questionable CGI throughout the movie, then I will say that "Storm Over Luoyang: Yin and Yang Realm" is actually a good movie. My rating of "Storm Over Luoyang: Yin and Yang Realm" lands on a six out of ten stars.
