Ninna lives with her son Dennis in Præstø, Denmark, where she also works at the local barbecue. As Dennis turns 18 close to Christmas, Ninna throws a surprise party for him. Most surprised however, is Ninna herself, because in the midst of all the glory Dennis announces that he has found his own apartment and intends to move out from his childhood home. Ninna is now thrown into a major crisis, with December turning into a month in hell. The prospect of having to watch her son grow up and start living his own life is unmanageable, and she takes every conceivable and unimaginable means to save Christmas, the feast of hearts, and get her son home.

We expected to see a light glamorous comedy, like in the picture of the poster. It turned out there was very little comedy there. At first it was interesting, then not so much. First of all, the question arises whether the new guy will want to share her with the boss... It is difficult to find her connections with her work, why she is there, an unclear relationship with the boss. Will Nina's boss like her new boyfriend, will she be able to continue working there? Another question is why her son demands her to repay her debts, if he is a talented musician and should have money.. This is not all pretty pretty good.
I was very surprised how the movie gets around so many cultural differences. Incredible acting by Ninna. She is amazing...
