When Sibi Sir spoke about this incident in an interview. I was terribly excited to know how they might be going through each day. This was the main reason to go and watch the movie. It's as real as I imagined it to be. I feel proud of them when I know the plight of the police with real life.
A story of simple robbery and its investigation well told without dramatization, heroics, histrionics etc. Well made movie. Loved the simple way of story telling. Docked 2 stars because of very slow pace. Movie could be cut to 90 mins, instead it is 136 mins which is too long.
As usual asif again proves his extra ordinary talent and of course the theme and story of the film is just lit. I am glad that i was able to watch movie anyway it was worth enough & moreover its a family movie too.
Asif played a great role, direction is well, cinematography excelled. A realistic approach and never seen in any Malayalam film, portrayed well. BGM also super . The flow is maintained well through out film.
This movie was Exceptional right up until the ending. It's an engaging police procedural that takes it time. Just keep in mind that it's based on a true story and the real life counterpart of the lead is one of the writers. It could have been one of the best movies of the year with a better executed ending. It's a shame.
Kuttavum Shikshayum is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. But for anyone familiar with Rajeev Ravi's previous works and his penchant for highly realistic and humane crime dramas, this film has much to offer. I really enjoyed the pacing and the performances. If you like slow burners that take you on a ride (from Kerala to Rajasthan, in this case) - go for it by all means. 6.3/10 on Imdb as I write this - and that's too low for this worthy, earnest effort.
