Innerself

I very much appreciate independent movies and I usually will view them through tolerant eyes. Allowing for less talented or experienced people to create should be encouraged. But how this is scoring 10's is completely unbelievable and unacceptable. Clearly they are trying to game the review star system. I would normally give this movie a 2 or 3 star rating. They tried to create something unique and original. They just need more experience, budget and talent pool. But they get a 1 now because they are trying to move their score artificially up.

Total misfire of blending a musical with martial arts. I had to turn it off after 15 min. The songs, both melodies and lyrics are derivative, the acting is amateurish and the fight scenes are pitiful.

The plot is so messed up. The summary of the story was good and unique and i thought let's check it out.. might turn into something good but alas! The acting was horrible to the end .. i still can't understand how it got high rating .. and one guy saying it's a masterpiece.. HOW ? It is seriously a waste of time .. I am speechless..!!

Man! What an amazing movie, a story of boy who got bully in childhood and become a bully himself .. a soulful journey of kind heart man ...you need to watch this movie

When you watch this movie, you can relate it with yourself and people around you..in life you have to go though from pain to become something..in short a movie worth watching

Loved this movie, I have always loved martial arts movies. Never been a fan of musicals but the way Johnny Wu The Director combines comedy and musical is made me a fan. It was just a refreshing feel good movie. Jason the lead was phenomenal embodying the role.

"Innerself", a "martial-arts musical" is very refreshing and pleasant feature release from the veteran of Cleveland's indie film movement - Johnny Wu. Very entertaining arthouse take on classic martial arts cinema, with a good story and positive message. The main character's wardrobe (yellow shirt with a black stripe) pays tribute to the "man" himself - the godfather of martial arts subgenre, Bruce Lee (those of us who grew up watching his films will recognize this visual element). The low-budget film is well directed, featuring talented performers who deliver everything you need for this type of visual narrative: songs, dances, fights, stunts, and more! It's nice to see something slightly different in today's independent cinema and "Innerself" is one of those indie films.
