Chaman Bahaar

Such a funny entertaining and refreshing movie. It describes exactly the same happenings when a sophisticated family lands in a small village and the guys of that village finds their love at first sight in the same girl. Ek anaar sau bimaar :)

I watched this movie only only because there was the beloved Jitendra in it, hoping for some decent entertainment. I was disappointed as it is just a dumb flick of a paan seller falling in love with a well-placed government employee's daughter. This is fine. But what disappointed me was the glorification of men parking themselves in front of a girl's house to have a glimpse of her or try to hit on her. WTF. I know its a common thing in India for few men to do that, but sorry, why was this portrayed as something funny or cool ? It is plain disgusting. Also, the movie is forgettable. There are two guys who are always with each other, roaming on their bikes like loafers. Sorry not like loafers, they are loafers in the movie. Forget the names of the character. and their roles are so bad, I'm lazy to even google it. So, WTF were those two characters? Like, what value did they add to the overall movie? Huh?

This is a completely refreshing take on affection, love, struggles of life. If you are going in, with an expectation of seeing yet another twisted fairytale which bollywood keeps churning out every year, then please avoid this movie as this director has chosen realism and logic over, dreamy sequences. This is a tale rooted in ground reality, which encompasses the journey of "panwaadi". His dreams, affection, challenges and growth and masterfully portrayed. The music of the film could have been much better though. Overall it's a great watch.

Jeetu fits really well in the role of small town paan wala who has a dream to do something on his own and make his name in the town. His luck started when a beautiful girl with her family shifted to a house in front of his paan shop. Romeo boys started to visit his shop and becomes Romeo adda of town. Tried to watch this but after a while the dirt, flies and barren landscape becomes a turn off. Previous films from this production company have also proved disappointing. While they appear to want to deal with social issues, the message just does not come across at all. Total waste of time.
