Storyline was fine but there was no explanation on why this even happened. And how, and then you leave the movie confused. Acting was good. I do not recommend unless you have nothin else to watch

A small budget film that's elevated by the engaging performances of its cast. This understated horror movie reminded me of The Witch, with its similar themes of suspicion and fear elevated by the suffering and hardships, people of this era would've gone through. The director Thomas Robert Lee does a great job with the small budget and while there isn't a lot of gore or horror elements on screen (although there is a scene involving an attempted abortion that's extremely cringe-worthy) there is an atmosphere of unease and paranoia, that made watching the events unfold intriguing. It's not going to appeal to everyone, with its slow pacing and lack of big screen horror elements, but The Curse of Audrey Shaw's strong actors and smart use of its small budget elevates it above similar films of this sub-genre.

Saw this at FrightFest 2020 (online festival) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The performances are captivating, the cinematography is beautiful and the gore & violence really pack a punch. It draws comparisons to The Witch and The Nightingale bit is a very strong entry in to the genre. It could have maybe gone a little further in places but overall this is a brilliant piece of haunting storytelling.

A traditional European and every day providor who has no time to deal with folclore and myths and legends even of his own country finds it hard to believe how naive and undereducated a small community could be......maybe because the distances were greater maybe because three centuries of bad DNA are accumulated ( US started as a place of exhile for criminals or superstitious simpletons) ...access to science and knowledge added to this mixture in an unorthodox way resulting in a unique culture non existing elsewhere....Human life (or spiritual for that matter ) can very fast go down the drain,,,no exceptions from a President down to a butcher (sometimes both in one) maybe the time set of this story is wrong but is not far from the inner world of everybody who inhhabits this land........what a pity for the lost potential ( shown in the 50s) and what a warning of where this country is heading...it is a time bomb tik tok tik tok

It's downbeat and slow-paced but very strong in the cinematography and acting departments. The story is not the most coherent but it's sometimes refreshing to not have everything explained in detail. If you liked The Witch, this could well appeal as it has some similarities but personally, I feel this movie is a lot better.

The prairie setting is creepy and full of dread - combined with the great performances from the cast, CURSE is definitely worth watching.

A beautiful film capturing the anger and sadness of a young woman coming into her power.

The actors are good but the script is poor and boring. it is a waste of time

The atmospherics and setting are straight out of "The Witch" for me. The film strikes an excellent balance between slow-burning dread and gore, but the background story needs more exploration. In the end this film leaves a lot of questions.
