This was a well made movie in my opinion, I thought the writer took a lot of chances with some of the content, the overall message was a good one too. This movie was full of seasoned actors and it deals with very heavy topics, but does not dwell on the negative, John Philbin did a great job as the lead actor and Estella Warren was very good in a supporting role. I was surprised by the familiar faces that kept appearing throughout the movie, well done.
Mediocre film that could be forgotten but Estella Warren's beautiful face and acting. Estella can make anything look good and such talent.
I can't believe some people on here have rated this movie so low! I mean, okay it's not a masterpiece and it is low-budget, but it's got a great cast, and it's cute. Lighten up, people- it's a lite movie- if you take it for what it is, instead of wanting it to be what it isn't, you'll appreciate it more! And shout out to my girl, Joanie Jett- who as always-doesn't get enough screen time, but at least she's in it. In fact, the whole supporting cast is delightful, as are the leads. So yeah, this movie is worth more than what the ratings would suggest, for sure!
I can't believe this movie got made. The movie reminded me that B/C level actors have to eat, so they had to say yes...but Russell Simmons...Why?? I died a little inside seeing him in this. He couldn't possibly need the pocket change he might have received for doing this movie. My respect for him is now slightly diminished..And his scene was maybe 5 mins. I've never written an IMDb review before, but this movie was so bad I'm compelled to warn others. Note: Everyone's acting was fine, but my God the story was bad! I gave it a 3 and I'm thinking of still downgrading to a 2.
This movie made me smile and feel good. Sometimes that's all you can ask of a movie. The story felt real and the acting was genuine for the most part. I really enjoyed the supporting cast, both the characters and the actors who portrayed them. Their were a ton of Easter eggs left by the director related to one of his other projects as well as one that was actually related to the director himself. I loved Jane, had this been a serious movie as opposed to a "rom-com" I would worry that Jane and John would both need to be more serious about their sobriety in order to be the people they needed to be, but since it was more light-hearted it was easy to just go along with it. I liked Tom Arnold's speech at the end about how the main characters had just entered "grown up time." I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for a quirky film with fun cast/characters, a good soundtrack, and a light-hearted, cute story. I can see why critics might not enjoy this movie, and that's exactly why I could never be a film critic, I'm too fond of letting myself enjoy movies rather than looking for faults and flubs. Any way, if you're able to not take yourself or your movies too seriously, than you might like this movie. If not, go watch something else.
