OK so i am 12 and love Thomas but at this cinema vue in Southampton things were terrible i saw the advert went hey looks good but as soon as it started buzz goes my mind i mean the Americans really copied us this time the film Thomas and the magic railroad had a collapsing bridge well in the old model TV series the incline doesn't talk only cranky/Collin are moving big things talking until Merrick somewhat appears after 5 years of animated series at the quarry then going back in 1984 Caroline a talking car so happens to be copied by Americans into Winston NEXT IS Luke!!!so in 1998 smugger was in fear of being sent away so why not base our story on him...or even put him back there as himself as a cameo or a generator like he got into and back out... wow i loved Thomas then this fake film came out. oh wait rocky why not have Harvey and the breakdown train anymore sheep are eating the grass out this movie if Thomas productions see this email me on my you tube loud5videos and id buy the Thomas models off you and make episodes my self with my uncle...... don't see this fail movie
This movie is a huge improvement to the HiT era, they finally knew what there were doing (especially after the controversy with Misty Island Rescue and Day of the Diesels, they finally fixed the narrow gauge engines, (however in my review, I incorrectly said that they matured Skarloey's voice too much), I actually think Skarloey in BMM was portrayed very well in the movie, Nice job HiT 10/10.
Read this review, the other kid cant seem to grasp the concept of story ideas. If you want to start watching Thomas movies, this one's great. The voice acting gives the narrow gauge engines more character, and new kid Winston sounds fitting. The story is something i cant go into, because i didn't mark for spoilers, but I'll say this: It's okay. Sharron Miller did fantastic with this movie, and it may be her best Thomas work. The return of the Skarloey railway as the Blue Mountain quarry is welcome, however there was no formal introduction the the quarry. It's just there. As Thomas CGI songs go, this one's song is fantastic. The look of the returning and new characters is great, and the did a great job on engines such as Rheneas, who had a lot of weathering on his original model. Overall, watch this movie if you like Thomas. You won t regret it.
Having watched most of the CGI specials, I think this one has one of the best stories. It's one of the few specials that feels like a movie and not just a really long version of a normal Thomas story. There's plenty of action, the narrow-gauge engines play a major part in the story, and it really gave me a new appreciation for certain existing characters. Like most of the CGI specials, there are a few errors in the animation, some more noticeable than others. (Example: in one brief shot, an engine is moving but his wheels clearly aren't.) This seems to be an inescapable curse of CGI Thomas - I guess someone just didn't pay attention at the animation studio, or they cut a few corners hoping nobody would notice. It doesn't detract from the experience too much, but it's ripe fodder for those who like to nitpick. The one thing I have never liked much about Thomas specials is the songs. They are always very corny and add nothing to the story, and they all sound almost exactly alike. But then, this is a show for kids, so it's not like you can expect musical masterpieces out of it. I just wish they'd leave the songs out altogether - it would make the specials a lot more enjoyable for those of us who aren't kids anymore (I'm 20 years old) but still enjoy Thomas. For the record, I also vastly prefer the original Thomas TV theme over the newer one with lyrics.
