Street Fighter

Street Fighter was a bit of a mixed bag. The visual style and action sequences are proper mint, especially those anime-style flashbooks—loved that bit! ​However, the plot was proper messy. Some might reckon you don’t need a decent storyline for a game adaptation, as long as there's loads of smashing, right? But nah, that’s dead annoying. Not everyone plays the games or knows the lore. A film's meant to build a proper world where you can actually connect with what's going on emotionally, not just watch two hours of random fighting. The pacing was all over the shop and the characters felt well underdeveloped. ​Honestly, I proper fancied going down to the cinema to watch this on the big screen, but uni work has been an absolute nightmare lately and I just haven't had a spare second. So yeah, here I am resorting to dodgy streaming links instead. ​Overall, stick it on if you just want some mindless action, but don’t go expecting a proper, well-structured story.
