A lot of feels from this movie. Nothing about it seemed fantastical or extra ordinary or unbelievable, it just felt so real and by the end I just felt so connected to it. Everything about it really embodied the pain and fear, but also the quiet of 2020. It's as if you're waiting for something terrible or sudden and extreme to happen, but then the next scene comes and somehow it's worse but it takes you a second to put your finger on it to really identify why. Fair warning, this is definitely not light hearted or even a redemption story, it's dark, but in a real life kind of way. Like how there's a little voice that tells you to turn the steering wheel towards the side of the bridge, but you have to deliver your passenger in the back to the hospital first. Overall one of the best films I've seen in 3 years.... really hate that it took me 3 years to see it.

Northern Shade kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was watching it. It is suspenseful and at the same time a wonderful character study, focusing on a veteran of the war In Afghanistan and the trauma that conflict inflicted on so many soldiers. It also addresses the rise of militias and their danger to all of us.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Great performances, great story well told. Felt like a big budget movie. I highly recommend it! If you are tired of big budget more of the same movies you will enjoy this film.
I thought it was a great film! Very well written. The story kept you guessing and engaged but was easy to follow along. The characters were easy to relate with and drew you into the story. Good job with filming and I loved all of the CT references, they made them very visible yet seemingly blended them into the shot. Great ending as well!
