This is a hidden gem on Amazon. It's clearly a low budget film but it really should be a lot more well known. It was released in 2020 so I think maybe covid has us all preoccupied. Everything about this movie worked for me. And that surprised me. I was constantly expecting this move to skew into failure territory and it never did. They even managed to clinch the ending. Watch it because it's original. It's fresh. It's not a reboot, a prequel, threequel, it's not anything except a cool premise that is relevant, realistic in a way, and just plain kooky enough to work. So watch it. It's a way to spend your time and laugh.
If I had never been born I would have never had to sit through Murder Bury Win. I would have been blissfully ignorant in oblivion forever. It is, without, hyperbole, the worst film I have ever seen. Everything is bad and it made me feel bad. I now hate movies.
Enjoyable and relatable. Seem like something that could happen. The characters were likable. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought the casting was really good, the character of VV Stubbs who is particularly well done. I recommend it to anyone looking for a lighthearted comedy.
Best friends, Chris, Adam, and Barrett, have created their board game Murder Bury Win. Their crowdfunding is going nowhere. Prolific game designer Victor Von Stubbs invites them to an isolated cabin. He offers to buy the game off their hands but they can't acknowledge creating it. They need to bump up the money. $3k is not big enough as a cinematic lure. It needs to be a deal with the devil. Adam needs to be a wild crazy punk instead of a white preppy guy. I do like the descend into chaos but it needs a little more setup. If Victor's death is more messy, it would explain the need for a cover up. I love this idea but it needs to be developed more carefully.
This movie is a very fun twist on the "whodunnit" murder mystery genre, with a large dose of comedy thrown in. As a board game geek, it really appealed to that side of me.
Great FUN ..., great Acting!!!! This movie is going far. I look forward to more from the writer/director and the cast.
Loved this and would recommend to my friends and family.
Three game geeks invent a board game called "Murder, Bury, Win." They can not get on-line funding for their project, but they play the one they have. Out of the blue they get a call from someone who will help them. It turns out to be V. V. Stubbs (Craig Cackowski) a god among cult board game creators. Things do not go well at the meeting as the film becomes a dark comedy. I liked the fact that this was fresh. It wasn't "Dave Made a Maze" fresh, but what is. While I found the film overall enjoyable, I felt there were scenes and the ending that missed the mark. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
