Appreciate the one take work and how difficult that likely was to pull off. Will be watching again as I feel like there is either something I missed, or the movie was designed to leave a lot to the imagination!
Definitely not your regular thriller movie! To think this movie was shot in one take blows my mind. Very unique and worth watching! Super interesting movie. Melissa & Max
I'm unsure why there are so many poor ratings, but these are from my point of view absolutely undeserved. I just finished watching this film and found it great. This is not a gore horror film with continuous jump scares, but rather a film that uses an intriguing build-up of suspense. Script, dialogues, paste, suspense and acting were all very strong and intelligent. The fact that the whole movie was (mostly) one cut is very impressive from a technical point of view and adds significantly to make the viewer feel submerged and part of the movie. I would love to see more movies like this, very refreshing.
I saw this move in a theater at a film festival (about a year ago), rather than at home. Maybe that slightly affects my rating, but I loved it. It had my attention the whole time, partly due to how it's shot. I immediately wanted to see it again after I saw it. A one-shot horror movie, very effective in my opinion. Don't know what's up with the bad ratings for it.
If I could give negative stars I would, worst movie of 2020 or maybe worst movie exists
Because I guess that the overall cost was cheap : a good smartphone and that's it ! But the picture is quite nice, the acting just what it needed and the story much better that I expected. I am not a big fan of long dialogues but actually the first part of the movie presents the girls in a way that make them scary enough that you start wishing hell on them : the constantly abusing behaviour apart, you know that they're dumb enough to involve the little angel. At the end, you just want to send them to Julie where you know they gonna get what they deserve. The music is not all over the place like often with small budget movies, and the suspense rising is really well mastered. Some things of course could have been better : cam a bit too close on the subjects, the smartphone lights error and maybe a better look at Julie's body with on the opposite, a less close look at Mrs Durer and it would have been nearly perfect. A nice movie to watch at 2AM when everybody else is sleeping.
"one shot" but there are multiple cuts. That's not one shot.
People are too critical! It's a horror and not a bad one either. Acting was good and in my opinion it was a well thought out movie with a unique style. Also not your typical I have seen this before a thousand times. I would recommend!
A group of teen girls prank Emma with a scary mask while she sleeps. They then decide to prank the girl across the street who none of them know anything about. the house has a history. Emma stays behind. A few minutes later a girl comes back scared and low budget things start to happen. We never get to see what happened in Julie's house. It is just a bunch of scared girls and a doll that moves from room to room. Keep the fast forward handy. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
