It was so refreshing to see a classically animated film today with such a great story. I instantly fell in love with the characters. Lots of hidden meaning and lessons to be learned. Can't wait for a sequel. I really think that this film will be enjoyed both by children and children at heart.
What a fine piece of animation, highly underrated; Showcases the meaning of lifelong friendship and love that can overcome public's prejudice. Really heartwarming tale that can be endearing for kids, yet exhibits a maturity that adults can very much relate to. Highly recommended.
A touching film, with an exquisite and simple drawing style. With a brave little mouse as a protagonist, called Célestine, she enchants the audience in such a pleasent way a cause of her energy, vivacity and funny personality. Surprising with her maturity and peculiar way of solving the problems in a emotional and curious way, altough, above all enjoying her artistic side, in which I want to be able to see through her eyes her paintings and way of seeing the world she wants to paint. Among the many achivements of the film, my favorites have to do with the aesthetic decisions in support of the narrative: the dark and exacerbated shadows games, the colony of mice represented in its most minimalist expression, the parallel montage between the two worlds and the wonderful musical interlude that abstracts the image and ends up being a visual symphony. Definitely a charming and lovely film that master the audiovisual language in a refined way. A comical and lovely experience.
Disegni deliziosi e storia carina che insegna i valori dell'amicizia e a non avere pregiudizi verso specie o razze diverse dalla nostra
A calming and adorable adventure telling the story of how Célestine the mouse and Ernest the bear met. A fresh new take on the origin story for a beloved children's book series. Adorable designs and gentle watercolors work to illuminate a very solid but simple story. It's on Netflix as of now, both in the OG French and also boasts a wonderfully sweet English dub. Watch this with your kids, or as a treat for yourself. It's very refreshing in a world of 2018/2019 feature animation where it's mostly 3D and stories being told in traditional 2D are becoming fewer and far between.
