I'd give ANYTHING, for someone to say... Roxanne, Roxanne, all she does is party all night A period piece about the poet Cyrano de Bergerac. Although not burst of energy like In the Height, Cyrano radiated elegant melody and beautiful imagery. The set was amazing. There were many beautiful shots and along with the cinematography made the movie felt dreamy and romantic. But most importantly the music was mostly beautiful and magical. The first piece "Someone to Say" captured the feel of this movie perfectly, and somehow it was quite catchy. Even though the movie was calm, it was still filled with energy because of Peter Dinklage's phenomenal charisma. That scene at the beginning reminded me of the old Tyrion Lannister, the smart and eloquent man where his words were just as powerful as swords. He could be serious, but also charming and funny as well. My biggest problem with the movie was the story itself. It's mostly predictable, and some characters had questionable actions. Overall, aesthetically and musically beautiful. 8.5/10.

So much about the caracter cyrano, because its only strings of the historical book present, but cyrano as a musical escapade where quite glittering, and the prize goes to the bounced in the bar of the past peter dinkley, whos voice talent overstratified all my expectations, and a film where the symbiosis of song and music is just brilliant. I usually hate the classic stories, and avoids musicals as a pestillence, but the music coming outta nowhere far before the start of singing is the key to success, and apart from some low recording sound of vocals its just a bliss of goosebumps... and thats the reason that you should see this movie thinks the grumpy old man, cause there aint much flaws elsewise. Big or small, dinkley stands tall...

Cyrano de Bergerac as a musical was a poor decision, and casting actors with poor singing voices was an even poorer decision. Peter Dinklage was charismatic and convincing but the lyrics let him down. The lyrics were laughably bad (rhyming 'Cyrano' with 'no'- horribly unpoetic). For an ordinary musical this wouldn't be so jarring, but Cyrano is about wit and wordplay. The feeble lyrics were a distraction. A few minor and presumably unnamed characters also had frustratingly bad vocal skills which seems so easily avoidable by casting better singers. Perhaps the goal was to mask the lack of musical talent of the lead actors. I feel something was lost when Cyrano's speeches were overshadowed by so much over the top choreography. I fear new audiences will miss the point.

Cyrano is a 2021 musical romantic drama film directed by Joe Wright, written by Erica Schmidt and based on Schmidt's 2018 stage musical of the same name. The musical itself is based on the 1897 Edmond Rostand play Cyrano de Bergerac. In this 2021 movie, Peter Dinklage put himself in the place of the Cyrano character. You can even see all the insulting words made to him throughout his life through the character of Cyrano. The movie emulates Buz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge so much that it doesn't hide it either. We can even see Jim Broadbent on one side of the Roxanne character. But all this was not enough to save the movie. Already in the studio, he must have given up hope of the film, that he dropped the film on the internet. Long story short, we can say it's the worst Cyrano adaptation.

Peter Dinklage is a great actor. But whenever you see that they've for no obvious reason other than "woke" have slaughtered good source material and included a black actor you know that the movie will suck. Is it really so hard to come up with original stories that can include black people instead of forcing them into settings which are just ridiculous?

Watching Peter Dinklage in this performance is like walking into a decent play and he captivates me to make me stay longer til the end. Seeing his talents and personal struggles is just a treat to watch. So I say if Dinklage gets nominated I hope he wins making history as the first dwarf to win an Oscar. Technically he'll be the second dwarf actor to be nominated for an Oscar since Michael Dunn of Ship of Fools (1965) but let's hope the academy actually chooses well but I won't hold my breath bc the academy has a tendency to miss great performances or choose the wrong winners. Let's hope I say and praise Dinklage for his performance.
