Both my husband and I loved this movie. Acting was top class by all the cast. Out right belly laughs in places. So cringeworthy you have to look away but just can't stop watching. Loved it and just the right length too.
I really wanted to like this film. I did. It had my celebrity crush, George Mackay, in it and I have been trying to watch all of his movies. I was excited to see him in a romantic comedy, but overall it fell flat to me. I actually fast forwarded through most of it because I wanted to know the end, but couldn't bear watching it in real time. I think the main reason why it didn't work was because they were both so awkward. Usually this isn't a problem for me as it makes the characters feel realer and more relatable, but it was just too much here. They were both trying really hard, which I get is the point of the movie, but it was cringy at times. I also think if the format of the narrative involved seeing them meet more in the beginning rather than have flashbacks throughout from their first date, I could have connected with them more.
Just saw it on TV and was surprised to see 5 rating over 400 voters. The movie may be low budget in one apartment but for God's sake it is hilarious and entertaining
If you're expecting something grand, or major comedy film it's probably not for you. It's pretty much a nice simple, tight-budgeted romcom that spent most of it screen time in one location. The premise is a bit generic but i like that they keep the plot very simple, which only tells the story over that one night. The humor aren't bad, some are even 'unexpectedly' hilarious. The acting is kinda over-the-top and a bit cringe.
As a fan of cringe comedy I really enjoyed it, some of it you just gotta look away. Acting was well done and length was just about right. Think low score may be due to comedy style not as popular with all.
Nice, lovely and funny British movie, comedy actors too
I enjoyed this movie, although it was a bit tedious, especially in the beginning. There were some humorous sections depicting the awkwardness of a beginning relationship. The ending is humorous and shows some of the quirks of interpersonal relationships. The last 15 minutes or so made up for the slow beginning, as the last part was really very good. Not a sexy movie (sex is discussed much, but no bare parts shown), but more of a movie about relationships between single adults. Parts of it were funny, and the movie left me feeling good about the whole thing and I was glad I watched it. RECOMMENDED.
Best sex/dating movie since The Little Death (2014), yes it is based on akward situations and yes a few feel a little off, but it pull soff most of them and that is way better than most comedies manage. It also has a few real laugh out loud moments in it. The acting is well above anticipated, the cinematography is coupling meets club & indie/real life. Perfect movie to watch with your worse or better half for a laugh or some mates. Pro's Writing Weaving in unoriginal situations seamlessly making them feel original Acting Con's With a few tweaks the second half could have been made funnier (ex gf with daddy issues? - open goal). The feelgood notion overtook the comedy towards the end, both good and bad The well written 2nd roommate could have been used to effect better, as with the sensor light.
Perfectly awkward British humour with great acting.
