This documentary should be about tower climbing but it's more about the life of the climbers. Hardly finished half of the movie and just couldn't watch this anymore. I just drowned in boredom. There were no true life climbing situations just clips of them on the towers. I would have liked to know more about the whole climbing routine than about their previous life and encounters. For me it was just a big disappointment. It was slow and the story hardly went anywhere. Just clips put together with adding new characters to the story. It did not make any sense within the 50 minutes I watched the movie.
Dear Tacomanam, We appreciate you watching the film and giving your feedback. I can honestly tell you that none of the movie was scripted. Soundbites were taken from hours of interviews with the climbers. Never were they prompted to say any lines or dialogue. These are real climbers with real companies, all of whom are currently working. There is no doubt this is a PG film and we know there are some salty characters out there that didn't get featured. Climbers were chosen to be in the film after being nominated by their friends or companies and were subject to several interviews before being selected. You probably had a chance to nominate someone to be in the film. The goal of the film is to shine a positive light on tower industry professionals such as yourself, and grow the workforce to do such important work. Thanks for the job you do. Doug Lee, Vertical Freedom Director.
I saw the whole movie at NATE Unite 2022 and met the six protagonists. It is a great documentary showing the bits and pieces of a tower climber work day. Watching it, I felt like I lived and felt in my telecom tower carrier (and I still do) everything as they portrait it in the movie. The good, the bad and the weather; the relationships with your family; the bond within the crew; the bond within the climbers, no matter where or whom they're working for. Congratulations to NATE to find the resources to make this movie and present to the public the tower climbers, which many times are passing unnoticed!
Definitely scripted! All of em look like tools I mite be wrong but it kinda pi$$ me off.hit me up ill let you follow me and my crew unedited and all us cause we don't care what the office monkey and corporate bs says lol.
