Temptation Under the Sun

Treat this movie as a comedy, and i promise you'll have a good idea. It has so many moments that I think the movie intends for you to take seriously, but are really just laughable. Like, it's downright ridiculous. But that's part of the fun of it. This movie also tries really hard to be sexy, but it's not. Again, if you treat it like a comedy, you'll enjoy those moments. Just maybe don't watch it with your parents (or if you're an adult, with your kids). Cause that could get awkward. Anyway, there's not much more to say about this movie, but I still have this character count to meet... I liked it so yeah.

I gave the 2 stars for the lead actress only because she acts fairly well. However no Detroit accent but she's a cop from Detroit PD. The rest of the actors, especially the lead actor struggled to pull off their character. I think he was cast because he has impeccable abs. Big 10/10 for that part! Unfortunately the movie was cringier than the usual lifetime movies. In fact, it felt more like a Hallmark movie - especially when they were deserted on an island. I guess there's no reason to expect typical LMN dangerous scenes at a lake house! They're already on an island. Full disclosure, I fast forwarded much of it so possibly the parts of the show were better during those scenes.

I just watched this in the afternoon movie slot on Channel 5 in the UK. It was not bad. The acting was passable and the lovely Caribbean scenery was a welcome change from the posh mansions and fancy lifestyles that usually feature in TV movies. For an afternoon movie I thought it was pretty steamy in parts, especially when the two main actors, a man and a woman, made little attempt to climb out of a hole they had fallen into, but proceeded instead to spend some quality time together with very little on. But that hole! Was that supposed to be a sinkhole? It was so very obviously man-made by the film crew, because the perfectly perpendicular walls could not possibly have formed by accident. Anyway, one could see the workings. Finally the bad guys got their come-uppance and the two love birds parted, for Cassady, the girl, had to return to Detroit for some unfinished business involving a mobster. That, too, got sorted and two months later she returned to the island in the sun and to Travis, her leading man, who had invited her to the reopening of the bar under new management - his. Cue the music and they are probably solving yet more crimes as we live and breathe right now.

Loved it. Watched it three times. Main characters had great chemistry. Loved the scenery and plot. I'm a big Lifetime fan so there are not too many movies I miss which is intentional. Male leader was great casting. "We're gonna need a little more rope."

I thought that this movie had a weak plot. Also, the actors and actresses were not very good. In fact, the acting was terrible. Usually, I like most of the Lifetime movies,but this one get thumbs down for me.

Murder in the sun in my opinion had some of the better acting ive seen in these films. Annika foster is one of the prettiest actresses ive seen in these films and she plays detective cassidy cruz, whos on vacation in the carribean investigating an arson case that we then dont find anything else about. She meets some people in a local bar, one of them gets murdred and she has to solve it, while trying not to fall in love with travis. Shes not convincing as a detective but good acting is good acting atleast to me; its a little predictable in places as to be expected but overall a fun watch if not cheesy.

Reign in expectations, it's a Lifetime made for TV movie. In that context it's a pretty decent watch. Attractive cast, doing their best with the script. The striptease thing was actually pretty good I thought! Have sadly seen a lot worse.

Cassady Cruz is a hardboiled police detective in Detroit. Forced to take some time off due to her overzealous vigilance in dealing with a corrupt councilman, Cassidy embarks on a whirlwind vacation to the Caribbean island of St. Luke where she will find even greater corruption than in Detroit. While the drama on the island involves a cabal of greedy entrepreneurs and a chief police inspector who is rotten to the core, the principal drama is a romance between Cassady and a playboy tour guide named Travis King. Travis is an expatriate who fled the United States to escape legal difficulties. Now, he finds himself embroiled in a murder case when his ex-lover Minerva is murdered and he is the principal suspect. The mystery side of the film is superseded by the romance when Cassidy and Travis join forces to prove his innocence. But rather than striving to solve the crime, they are constantly distracted by urgent matters pertaining to the birds and the bees. The most outrageous scene finds them on a deserted island where they both have fallen into a sinkhole. But instead of focusing on extricating themselves, their first impulse is to take care of romantic matters. "Temptation Under the Sun" did not quite meld the mystery genre that lacked suspense with the romance that never quite sizzled enough. The fine cast labored to rise above material that seemed closer to sitcom than a made-for-television film.
