Fourteen year old Tommy Schooner comes from a family whose lives revolve around skateboarding. His mom and dad own a rapidly growing skateboard company called Modern Skate that is preparing for a meeting with a large investment firm, headed by Mr. Hoffman. Also Tommy's sister is a professional skater and the public face of the company. Even his dog Buddy can shred with the best of them. While practicing skating with Buddy, Tommy accidentally runs into Frankie, a 17 year old local skater and town bully. After an argument, Tommy challenges Frankie to a skate competition. Unfortunately, Tommy didn't inherit his father's passion nor his sister's abilities, and the skate competition is in 5 days. With a lot of practice and a little help from his best friend Alice and his trusty dog Buddy, he just might be ready in time for the competition - and he might learn something about integrity along the way.

This movie was on Hulu and being skateboard fans we had to watch it. The story is neat but the acting just seemed really bad. They could have found better skateboarders to do the skate scenes. Why did the parents go to bed fully clothed in hoodies and sweats? Just weird?
Amazing writing with insane foreshadowing to the incredible ending. Not only that but the acting from sk8 the dog was crazy. I think it deserved oscars in every category. Absolutely robbed. It also deserved a golden globe in some category but i dont really know what a golden globe. I really genuinely and truly believe this can compete with the godfather as the best movie of all human kind of all time in every way. Its made sooo well that the first watch made me explode of joy. I cant stress enough how good it is and its a must watch for every movie enthusiast. YOU. HAVE. TO. WATCH. IT. Nothibg pains my heart more than an underappreciated underrated misunderstood masterpiece just like this one. 10/10.
