Run the Race was the perfect film for father and sons. I have two sons that are very similar to the actors playing the sons in this film. One is very steeped in his Christian faith, the other, enjoying all the pitfalls of godless behavior. My wife and I raised our sons in the same way. We prayed with them every evening at bedtime, we went to church every Sunday and participated in Christian Holiday events such as musicals, plays, etc-etc. It affected me deeply, being a Christian. The relationship between the father and the eldest son was negative and hateful, until they gave their life to Christ. Beautifuly made film. Great job
This movie has all the elements that make for a really great All-American movie. The storyline is very compelling, the bond of brotherhood is moving, the acting was brilliant and pulls you immediately in with its strong believability, and never misses that beat through the entire movie. The writing is excellent, and the movie has the 'it' factor in regards to timing. Tanner rocks his role and will bring you to tears; Evan stole the show for me and shone like a star. Kelsey is just too cute for words, and ruled her role. All the casting was spot-on. If you have a heart beating in your chest, you will laugh and you will cry. This is a movie whose positive impact can stay with you for a long time. I definitely want my sons and daughters to see this movie.
Went into it thinking it was a football movie. But nope. Just another movie that doesn't mention anything about religion in the description, nut it is basically an hour and a half of people telling you how god would be better for your life. I wouldn't have minded but there was no mention of this before hand and I felt like i was manipulated in a similar fashion to those who try to push religion on others. Shame 2.3
So I went to see a movie last night called Run the Race. It was written and directed by my sons best friend older brother Chris Dowling. Well all I can say is if you wanna go see a movie that's about dreams, with a football theme, this is it. It's creative, thought provoking, funny, sad, well written and definitely well acted, with a story plot that will tug at your heart. This is Chris's 5th movie and with each movie that he turns out, they get better and better. Its not surprising to me that someone like Chris and the caliber of his of his creative directing mind, would keep churning out movies that are just that good!. Can you tell I loved it. Just go see it!!
Great inspirational movie with great lessons to be taught.
The movie was not very realistic seeing as how on a real high school football team you can't just switch out with someone who isn't on the team, nor can you transfer scholarships to your sibling. The actor who played "Dave" is also pretty stuck up and is more fake in real life than he is in his movies. I honestly don't recommend this movie to anyone who actually cares about sports, christianity, or even emotions.
True story of brotherhood, hope, endurance, faith and never giving up! We don't always understand why, but God is already there and it's proven in this movie!
Tim Tebow and his brother got this film right. What a wonderful portrayal of the brokenness of a family and healing that is available. An emotionally gripping tale that was well presented. To be brothers.... Real brothers.
