The idea that a bunch of blue-haired podcasters reading someone else's script would lend some credence to the story of atrocious doings, as if the story didn't have enough credibility in and of itself, is insulting and demeaning to the memories of those to whom these things were perpetrated upon. Add to that the silky deep voiced narrator who can't find enough work narrating the exciting trailers of third rate thrillers and the "gotcha" soundtrack and you've got a substandard slice of tripe pre-flavored for an audience of bon-bon double wides. Perhaps it would have been more palatable had they stuck to actual interviews with actual participants. It's obvious that some of these script readers were chosen for the crack in their voice so that we should experience the palp of the events of which they had no part of. Edited down to half the runtime with all the fake crap removed might have given some integrity to a worthy story. As it is, not worth the time.
Good short story telling in a 90 minutes feature length documentary movie, all crammed together in this little box called ''the golden state killer''. Deangelos deeds of indespicable crimes are actually a humongous monster done when studying the volume of crimes and the extreme length of his crime spree, and within the hands of the nerdiest of nerdy documentary filmakers this mans reigns would easily fill up 12 episodes of true crime TLC tv of nervewrecking rapes and crime stories inflicted by this x-cop. So when shrinking the size of crime portfolio into a 90 minutes tv -cavalcade it has its lacks and missing pieces, never the less a well made product and worth watching thinks the grumpy old man.
