source: Maari 2
Nobody knows why 2nd part of this movie was made but it was better than the 1st half in certain aspect. Awesome music, it is Yuvan. Moderate story/screenplay. Average performances. Very Good watchable action sequences. Kutty Don's dialogues were elevating. Definitely a one-time watchable.
This film is really good because of Dhanush & Sai Pallavi acting, dancing this film story is really nice....... music is really good #rowdybaby
Dhanush acting is superb asusual.but script is very weak even children can judge what is going to happen next..Sai Pallavi did good job but in some place her expression was irritated. Villian is not so strong.song was really great.. worth watching for Dhanush and his acting
Due to the low ratings, I was very surprised with the second part of Maari, directed by Balaji Mohan. The first part was enjoyable for the unique character Maari and a great ending, which could've been a good end for this story, too. But the film made me forget about it. Especially in the first half of the movie it was way more content-driven than the first part. Though the antagonist Beeja, played by Tovino Thomas, didn't have enough background story, his actions against Maari made him a good counterpart. Kresha, Sai Pallavi and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar as supporting characters had a bigger impact and more depth than you might have absorbed from the trailer's content. After all, Maari himself did change. Some important character elements were missing, but on the other side his character development was done very good. As expected this movie had a lot of masala, commerical-oriented elements. Of course the unnecessary songs and fights were destorying the momentum, but if you've seen the first part, this shouldn't surprise you. As you know Yuvan can do both - emotional and suitable scores, just like dominant and repetitive scores - depending on the movie/scenes. So you kinda had a switch between two types of background scores. In the end some critics are overreacting. You shouldn't expect a movie equal to Vada Chennai or Nayakan as the second part of Maari. This is a simple family-entertainer! Totally above the expectations and a rare decent sequel in the Tamil industry. 7.0/10
I felt like the scriptwriter slept off after writing the first half of the film. When he start writing the 2nd half, he forgot the tone of Maari. And by the end, somehow managed to bring it a full movie. 2nd half doesn't fit well and it makes Maari2 a half baked show spoiling the fun. And 2nd half is too predictable too, (felt it same as Vijay's 'Theri' in storywise.)
It's one of the worst Tamil movie. Dhanush show the perfect overacting, Sai palavi is also bad in that,.Only tovino played well job.
Already 1st part disaster, why again kolaveri in Maari 2. Director please consider yourself that you came from naalaiya iyakumar...
Traditional commercial drama.. Dhanesh done his best but body language didn't give any kind of feel that he's gangster... S.Pallavi shouldnt choose these kind of role, since she seems to be odd on that environment... No comedy! No twisted ! No trilling action scenes! Poor BGM..... To be Frank , it deserves only one star. One time watchable....
