this movie is sucks when the 1st disaster is zombie spreading virus after a while converting into blind monsters.. related to the movie quiet place the heck..
nice
If you like it you're a teenager or a 20 something that doesn't remember good movies and t.v. Shows! It sucked! Long boring and pointless! Just like 99.9% of all others released lately! Felt like it would never end! Waste of time, I thankfully didn't have to spend anything financial for this sad excuse of a movie! Not a zombie movie like it claims a boring drawn out never ending show about two idiots fighting, and a little girl! The dog got murdered which was stupid because the dog was the only good actor! Horrible I was hoping it would end soon or get better but it doesn't. Never been so bored in my life! If this is what people enjoy I don't have hope for humans!
Not to give away any of the plot, just to comment on the quality: it is not quite Dawn of the Dead or even Diary of the Dead, but it is very much better than the low budget zombie films. The acting is good, the non- zombie story line is engaging and the zombies aren't bad. I am told I cannot submit this without ten lines of text, so I have to flesh out the review a bit, but not with padding words. So I will expand by noting that the acting is good enough to support a dramatic film, the horror aspects are good enough that we felt genuine stress watching the film. There were many parts where the tension builds and plenty of times as well where a good sudden scare caused us to jump.
At first I thought "Oh no, not another zombie movie!", but from the very first minutes I got hooked. The beginning scene of the film is great and reveals the overall theme of the movie: it is not about why or the how, it's all about the who. Extinction is rather badly chosen a title, because the scope of the film is not global, but very localized, very human and personal. It feels more like a play, with a total of four roles that are worth mentioning. It is not about a problem that someone solves, but goes back to the core of the zombie genre, the pure survival of the group of individuals in a hostile world. The creatures themselves are very secondary with the focus on the people, with complex and well written characters. Bottom line: this film deserves a lot more recognition than the IMDb rating seems to indicate. It is not a masterpiece, but certainly a work of art, not another recycled "run, shoot, run" clone. It lasts for two hours and it is a slow paced character driven story. So glad to see well written stories from time to time.
