This movie is so well done. I was shocked to learn that this was the director's first feature film. Everything from the cast, to the cinematography, to the writing, to the music was superb! This truly is your typical Hollywood film but with heart. Moreover, it's a film about progressive lifestyles and sensibilities - all taking place in unexpected ways. It will most definitely put you in a good mood. That is if you are generally an optimistic fun loving person who sees beauty in different cultures and lifestyles.
Well made and very funny. I enjoyed it. I think the plot was will written and easy to understand.
The movie was fun to watch! I enjoyed watching it. It was well made.
This is a delightful and fun romantic comedy! It is great to see a plot featuring a different culture, and a super politically correct cast as well. The film is colourful and light hearted. I enjoyed it a lot.
I hope one day all middle eastern women can be as open minded as Nousha.
I was worried when i see the reviews but it is a fun culture clash movie with a good cast worth a try just the ending was cheesy for my personal taste
Funny, deep and very well made portrait of different generations of Iranian American community...
Not only did I watch A Simple Wedding, I bought a copy and enjoyed it very much. Great job. Lovely story. And it had a happy ending. We need more happiness in this world. (Especially considering these past three years...but I don't want to go there right now. I want to focus on being grateful that this film was there for me to see. ) Wonderful cast, great cinematography and edit. Peace. PS. Does this review contain spoilers? I hope not.
This movie was nothing but a bunch of tropes thrown together. The writing was awful. None of the jokes landed. I was excited to see it because of the cast. Maz Jobrani and Shohreh Aghdashloo are terrific and hilarious when given even half decent material. All the charm and cultural aspects of My Big Fat Greek Wedding was missing in this movie. Nothing in this movie other than a few scenes where the characters speak Persian had anything to do with Persian culture or humor. It was as if the writer was guessing what Iranian culture is supposed to be. I wanted to stop watching after about 30 minutes, but continued to watch in the hope that there would be one scene that made it worth my time. That moment never came. Avoid this film like the plague.
