I wouldn’t call it trash, but I’m conflicted. There’s barely any mystery—you know where it’s going almost immediately. Squid-like monsters trap people inside, slowly flood their homes, and hunt them. Basically Predator meets Home Alone meets COVID. The neighbors getting forgotten was disappointing; seeing how everyone survived or how they died would've been more interesting. It also gets too bloated and dramatic once the kids become teens. The engineer/fisherman dad makes the survival stuff fun, though somehow nobody thinks of eating the aquarium fish until they’re starving. The mercy ending was decent: they spared a creature, so the creatures spared them, then it basically becomes Waterworld. RIP Cassidy. 🐕 Dog deserved a better movie and was one of the best actors. Cool premise, wasted potential.
