Lauren Pierce has just become the high-school Tri-State Archery Champion. After the competition, Lauren and her teammate Emily return to their hotel room for a night of irresponsible celebratory drinking that grows into more. When interrupted by Emily's abusive boyfriend, Lauren snaps and brutally beats Daniel. Lauren is then sentenced to a girls' reform camp Paradise Ridge, nestled in the mountains of California. But this "reform camp" turns out to be a corrupt and twisted prison that breaks young girls and keeps parents in the dark. With the help of Rebecca, a strong and provocative young woman whom Lauren befriends, the two escape the unsafe facility and fight for their lives out in the Utah wilderness; a journey of growth, acceptance and resilience of what they believe is right.

Looking for an entertaining 90 minutes, don't dig too deep or think too hard and you're fine. Lacking plot and dialogue. Decent acting and excellent music editing. With that said, about 90% of the reviews on here are upset because they made the main character gay. Which is just stupid. You're entitled to your opinion, but I don't see people putting down a movie because the lead characters are straight, so if that's your only issue with a movie... waste the excessive workout you just gave your thumbs, because you end up just sounding ignorant. To everyone else - Happy movie watching!

So unrealistic. A talented "A student" sent to a correction camp by a judge that has no advantage of doing so, for beating up a boy in self defence. The parents are to stupid to do anything against it. There is no Story behindert an advantage of a camp, controlled by nasty obusive men. The whole thing is just b...shi.!

Is is my opinion that if one is to grade a movie they should consider not only performance of the crew and special effects but also the meaning and the necesity of it all. The message of this movie, wich apparently (read other comments) in not so obvious, it the best part of this production. The movie is about the consequences of blind belief in the system and about the stupidity of opinion that the truth and innocence are enought to protect anyone. Obviously it is not The Shawshank Redemption but it is good enough for a boring evening. Last thing. It is not necessarily a lesbian movie as there is only one girl that defines her sexual orientation. As to others: a person broken by years of abuse would be anything if it pleases their savior and drunken girl that tries to experiment with her best friend does not necessarily count as gay.

To me it was finally interesting, dramatical, and exciting movie with lot of tense. I was watching it with my boyfriend and we wished it lasted longer. We even liked that it was something different and girls ended up as lesbians. I hate injustice in the movies and in the reality too whatsoever. The movie made me feel like I wanted to take the TV and throw it out of the window because of the injustice and tense. I thought it could have a sequel where the plot would show the trial how the girls sue the judge and the whole girls' reform camp.

I couldn't stop watching. Very good acting for a lifetime movie. Great storyline. Another movie that shows what disgusting things go on at these places and if you think this thing is not going on as much anymore, you are horribly mistaken.

1. They have been making these "exploitation" movies -- wrongly accused teen sent to detention camp by corrupt judge -- since the 1940s. Seriously. 2. The IMDB external reviews make this sound like a mix of Godfather and Star Wars. It is not. 3. Bailey Noble is the best thing in the movie. She seems like she actually cares about her character, a claim no other cast member can make. 4. The corrupt judge is played by a character actor who always plays corrupt judges. The evil warden is played by a Robert Redford lookalike, which is just creepy. The cast is always dressed in Tide-clean outfits which is the telltale of a B movie. Bottom Line -- if you are sent up the river by a corrupt judge, and this movie is played on movie night, it is bearable. Otherwise it is not

This movie really held my attention, of course it made me angry because I know abuse like this in our so-called justice system exists! I think they ended it too soon, it would have been nice to follow up on how the girls came out and to bring down that corrupt judge. The warden and his son got exactly what they deserved. It irritated me when they broke in the warden's house and didn't get away quick enough, she should have killed him right then! Not lightly injure him, for him to follow them. But I guess if that hadn't happened we wouldn't have had a movie now would we. I see a lot of homophobia in the comments.🙄To me that should not be an issue, it's one girl that acknowledges her sexuality and that was not a highlight of the film. Instead of being concerned about her being a lesbian character how about being concerned about the abuse that was caused by these sickening ppl that call themselves men. I gave the movie at 5 because again the ending was cut too short, and also I wanted to know the reason why her friend did not show up in court, that backstory should have been extended.
