As a big fan of filmmaker Adam Marcus' from his epic entry into the Friday the 13th series, JASON GOES TO HELL, he tackles Christmas in a unique way. Plot was fresh and kills innovative. Characters were painted with many colors and textures, giving them depth. You loved to hate them. There was refreshing diversity, representing many ethnicities and sexual orientations which is not present in many horror films. Bravo. And to round off an amazing cast, co-writer Debra Sullivan, plays the wacky mom and shines in the role. Another homerun for Adam and company.
Secret Santa is the movie version of an SNL skit. It's funny, over the top, and it doesn't take itself too seriously. It's perfect for a movie night where you want to turn your brain off, munch on some butter popcorn, spread out on the couch, and have a few laughs. I have to praise the opening credit where some letters in the names are highlighted to form spooky words. It's a creative way of informing the audience of what to expect and it sets the tone of the movie. The story is nothing new, it's just about a family reunion dinner on Christmas Eve that goes horribly wrong. Yes, "been there, done that", but this movie has a twist. You soon will notice that the family members are all particularly and brutally honest with one another and they speak their minds with all the fake politeness removed. Truth being communicated without a filter can be a dangerous thing because your truthful feelings can be offensive and hurtful. Has your friend asked you questions like "does this shirt make me look fat" or "am I a big loser"? In your mind you maybe think "yes you look like a whale" or "yes you dumb idiot", but you respond positively and encourage them with kind words. Now, imagine that you tell the truth when asked these questions at the Christmas dinner table. The answers will lead to violence because how terrible it is to be straightforward at moments like such. Here comes the plot twist, most of the guests at the dinner have drunken the hard punch with added truth serum. The serum comes with the side effect of turning the consumer into a semi-zombie. Most characters have the drink with the serum, they turn on each other for speaking the truth. The infection is bloodborne so it is easily transmitted. By the end of the movie, everyone in the family dies either through direct consumption or indirect infection. Sounds like a simply plot, doesn't it? The dialogues are hilarious!
Atrocious in every sense of the word. Terrible and no redeeming features. Please don't waste your time. Not even funny. Looks like it's shot on a camera phone. Vile!

I'm honestly speechless!!! I haven't seen a movie this GREAT (all around) in a very long time. I'm kinda ashamed that it took me this long to finally see it. It has everything you can ask for in a film. Blood, Violence, Comedy, and freaking Amazing story and acting. Hell even the beginning credit's was amazing!!!! Adam Marcus you and your team have made an instant classic :-) Debra Sullivan I hated you and loved you at the same time :-) ... Michelle Renee Allaire is a badass!!! That death scene was out of this world. I can go on and on about how much me and Kim Hazlett loved this film. We honestly haven't stopped talking about it. Again the story and acting was freaking amazing!! You guy's have totally hit this one out of the park!!!!! PS stay away from the punch :-)
Secret Santa is funny, bloody, and awesome! It's cleverly written and has a group of characters that are greatly brought to life by the cast. I loved this movie!
Secret Santa is definitely a must watch, it is one of the best horror/comedies I've seen, and definitely up there with the best Christmas Horrors. It is full of suspense, shock and gore, although has buckets full of humour too, it has a great cast who makes this upperclass dysfunctional family very believable, and you just want to love to hate them. I absolutely loved this movie, and would never get tired of watching it. 10/10
Great mix of horror and humor. I laughed out loud and i jumped. Great effects and characters. Kind of felt like feast and from dusk til dawn meets mixed nuts. The holiday feel is there as well and im damn glad its not or hasnt been my family's holidays lol. Its a fun romp; why is it so hot in here? Thank you Adam, Debra and skeleton crew!!
