This one had me from the beginning. This was a great film with no petty, silly moments or characters and lots of depth. I can't understand the negative comments in prior reviews. The Penavegas did a good job and the 2 kids were terrific. Even the landlady(mean old thing😊) was a great character. There was never too much time spent on negative aspects, those moments were kept moving at a good pace. There were enough obstacles to make the plot realistic and I loved the faith element ( which I did not find preachy). Just a good and uplifting movie that left me feeling satisfied. I didn't have any issue with the sound quality, so maybe that was fixed somehow.
To say this was brutal is an understatement. The lead characters are married in real life and this most always leads to a train wreck. Acting was weak at best, storyline incredibly predictable. While watching my gf and I were saying the lines before they were actually spoken. This service asks if my review contains a spoiler. If you can't predict the outcome 10 mins into the movie, you've been living in a box. This is a heavy faith based movie which made it a little preachy (pardon the pun). Don't know why we bothered, guess it was a slow TV night. I should have watched my grass grow instead. This was a BIG miss for me.
Oh wow! I went into watching this movie thinking I wasn't going to like it. Not usually a fan of the PenaVega movies, but boy was I wrong about this one. Some parts sweet and sentimental. Some parts were almost too real and painful to watch and realize that this really can and does happen to families. Reuben and AJ are phenomenal young actors. Their acting at some parts tore my heart out, not sure how they were able to show such an amazing range of emotions. While I realize some people don't like faith based movies, I found it quite refreshing and at no point was God or religion just tossed in. It was organic, it wasn't just put in there for no reason. It was a continuation of the family. All in all, this was a keeper.
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie! A difficult story to tell and was presented in OUTSTANDING taste! The thought processes of the characters were detailed extremely well and help the viewer understand the trajectory of those decisions. The entire cast were fantastic in their respective roles. Tear-jerker moments and appreciation of "ordinary" that becomes "extraordinary" moments all contained in the movie. Special kuddos to the children in this movie as well as Team Awesome PenaVegas who are extremely talented. A great reality story to watch, that makes the viewers think, and encourages viewers in how to see Divine Intervention in daily circumstances and deal with difficutlt issues sucessfully. A GEM!!
First, we could not understand much of the conversation. So we tried to enable 'Closed Caption' and guess what? No Closed Caption! I suppose the Closed Caption equipment couldn't understand the verbiage either. We turned the volume up really high, and all it did was make the blurred verbiage loud and still not understandable. Second, Carlos just wasn't a Manhattan/Wall Street kind of guy so that went over like a lead balloon. Maybe he could be a mechanic or a plumber, or the yard guy, but casting him as a high powered NY type just didn't fly. Besides, he was entirely too nice for that job. After about 15 minutes of frustration at not understanding lots of the script, the DVR was quickly cleared of this dog of a movie. It was a solid '1.' Here is a hint: Next time, hire professionals that are working behind the camera.

Good evening, Just finished watching the movie. Needed a tissue. Was only familiar with part of the story. Worked BG in NYC. Was able to see myself for a second in the park scene when they were walking and back view at the baseball field. Loved watching this wonderful, real husband and wife and their portrayal. Realistic and totally believable. They are my favorites and watch all their films when they are on. Didn't realize who they were. Just saw two awesome actors who were so professional. I highly recommend seeing Mr. Manhattan! Has everything. Joy, tears, conflict and above all...faith. Very interesting how life changes when faced with a new challenge.
