The film may not be scientifically rigorous. It is intended to be entertaining, even so there are good quotes about history and about astronomical discoveries. For example, Asteria, the goddess of shooting stars, is quoted, the erupting volcano of Vesuvius is quoted, and William the Conqueror and Halley's Comet in battle. There are also mythological theories or prophecies. The actors are up to the script and I think Sara is great and also the male lead, perhaps he's not all the successful he needs. But still, he's great, he has chemistry with her and he's not overbearing or pretentious or haughty, he's natural. In conclusion, the script has very good points and introduces brilliant aspects for those who want to enter the world of stars. For example, Carl Sagan quote that we are all stardust. The actor compares himself to the same stardust that match up with his partner. Homer's Odyssey is also discussed and several comets like Halley. I think this movie should be better appreciated.
Bad scientific writing can't up for this disaster. Stuck it out hoping things would improve. Hopefully the writer stays away from other scientific themes in the future. The prop department better dig up a better telescope and show the actors how to use it.
I don't know what the lead woman sees in the lead man. He is completely obnoxious! He rudely abandoned a dinner, cut her off when she would speak, and even booed her when she was explaining something. He booed her! This is not the behaviour of a rational adult. He was a petulant child through the first half of the movie. The supporting cast is good. Actually, maybe the main cast is good too, but the rudeness of the male lead was a complete turn-off. The pacing of the movie was good. While not exciting, you don't really expect that in this genre. The leads spend a good deal of time together, which was a good choice. All in all, it's watchable.
