إليسيوم

Elysium is a great flick with a depressing premise that reflects the harsh realities of immigration in America, from deportations to ICE. It's a glimpse into a possible future where the wealthy escape a dying Earth to enjoy paradise while everyone else is left to suffer. The action is fantastic, especially the futuristic weapons and technology, and it doesn't shy away from gore. Max (Matt Damon) isn't some overpowered hero destined to save the day; he gets caught up in events almost by accident, fulfilling the purpose the church sister envisioned for him. The villains are great, too. Kruger (Sharlto Copley) is a complete maniac, while Jessica Delacourt (Jodie Foster) is a chillingly realistic figure of power. Ironically, after Kruger stabs her in the neck, Frey (Alice Braga) tries to save her despite everything she's done to innocent immigrants. A powerful moment of compassion from someone she helped oppress.
