Dude, this kind of rocks. It's super realistic, like not a James Bond movie, or whatever, but really makes you feel like you're in the world of a real spy. I totally got lost in it, and don't think I've ever seen anything like it before.
I ask again, who are these spy movies target audience? Why insult males and put in RA RA woman power BS and then when it flops blame men for not wanting to watch any male propaganda. It isn't that 'Diary of a Spy' is an unwatchable mess. It's just a film that doesn't have a clear identity on any front - be it as a whole that combines a love story with an espionage story or even during the individual scenes dealing with either.

This sleeper is much better than I expected. With two unusual leads it speaks well of the story as I grew to like them. It's calm and well paced and for a movie about spies, totally refreshing. No car chases, no violence, no bad language, no nudity. Yet a great story that kept me engaged. I found myself thinking the worst was going to happen... right up to the very last minute on the boat and was appalled at myself for being so jaded and programmed as to expect the worst. I loved the happy ending which may be too Hallmark and trite for some people. I like Hallmark so the ending pleasantly surprised me. The whole movie left me with a "feel good" vibe yet it had been exciting and unexpected.
