A Shaolin warrior. The King of Muay Thai. Two fighters. Two very different martial arts traditions. When Yi Long faced Buakaw Banchamek, the fight became more than a clash between two kickboxers. Yi Long carried the image of a Shaolin warrior into the ring, while Buakaw brought the reputation of a proven Muay Thai champion with devastating low kicks, relentless pressure, and years of elite competition. Their first meeting ended with a controversial decision in Yi Long's favor, despite Buakaw appearing to control much of the action with his kicks and distance management. The result left fans debating what they had witnessed. Then came the rematch. Yi Long showed flashes of dangerous offense, including a head kick and a spinning hammerfist. But Buakaw continued to answer with sharp kicks, knees, and clinch work. When the judges announced the result, Buakaw finally had the victory. This is the story of Yi Long vs. Buakaw: Shaolin mystique, Muay Thai experience, a disputed first result, and a rematch that changed the narrative. Who do you think proved more inside the ring?
