🥊 FIGHT DESCRIPTION: 2025 has become a year of heartbreak for Lamont Roach inside the ring. Twice this year, Roach believed he had done enough to win grueling 12-round battles. Twice, the judges saw it differently, leaving him without the victory despite performances many felt deserved the nod. Roach (25-1-3, 10 KOs) fought Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz (28-3-2, 18 KOs) to a majority draw in their WBC interim super lightweight title clash Saturday night at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. One judge scored it 115-111 for Cruz, while the other two turned in identical 113-113 cards. It was Roach's second straight majority draw of 2025. In March, the former WBA super featherweight champion also settled for a controversial draw with Gervonta "Tank" Davis after Davis took a knee that was never ruled a knockdown, igniting widespread backlash. “All I’m asking for is a fair shot,” Roach said. “I felt like I edged it. A close win, but a win. This is some bulls***. I truly believe I won that fight.” Cruz is no stranger to elite competition.
