This video demonstrates the importance of circling out when a taller fighter throws a knee strike. Because taller fighters have such a reach advantage, you need to be able to move when they are going to strike you. If you try to throw a stiff arm at your opponent's chest (another counter to a knee strike), taller fighters have such reach that they can still land a knee strike.
