The fight between Artur Beterbiev and Marcus Browne took place on December 17, 2021, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This light heavyweight bout featured Beterbiev defending his unified WBC and IBF titles against Browne, a skilled and athletic contender. The fight began with Browne moving well and trying to outbox Beterbiev, using his speed and footwork to avoid the champion's power. However, things shifted dramatically when an accidental clash of heads in the early rounds caused a severe cut on Beterbiev's forehead. Despite the significant bleeding, Beterbiev remained undeterred and continued to press the action. By the middle rounds, Beterbiev's relentless pressure began to wear Browne down. He landed powerful shots to the body and head, forcing Browne to retreat more frequently. In the seventh round, Beterbiev dropped Browne with a brutal body shot, and in the ninth round, he secured the victory with a knockout after another crushing body blow. With the win, Beterbiev retained his titles and extended his perfect record to 17 wins, all by knockout. His performance underscored his reputation as one of the most dangerous punchers in the light heavyweight division. Beterbiev is now set to face Dmitry Bivol in their highly anticipated rematch.
