Salelaka Mokonzi - David Jones David | St. John Bosco choir Aba

Music has a beautiful way of traveling across cultures and languages. This piece is my own little mashup of two beloved choruses: “Salelaka Mokonzi” (Lingala from Congo) and “Chinemerem” (a popular Igbo chorus). I first saw the amazing vibe from the St. John Bosco Choir, Aba, and it inspired me to create my own version. So I decided to blend the Lingala praise with the Igbo worship… two languages, one spirit of gratitude. Today I’m sharing our videos side by side. Different expressions, same heartbeat of praise. My version is now available on Audiomack as “Salelaka Mokonzi.” What do you think about this mashup and the version I created?
