Lady Macbeth [Russian]

Adapted from Nikolai Leskov's Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, the movie depicts the life of a young woman stifled by her marriage of convenience to a man twice her age. Confined and left behind by her husband, she starts a romance with a young man from the estate.
