Testing Fortnite on the iPhone 11 – Can It Hold Up? Today FORTNITE RETURNS TO IOS and, I'll be testing Fortnite on the iPhone 11, which is the oldest Apple device capable of running the game with 4GB of VRAM. This test includes gameplay from both OG Battle Royale and the latest Battle Royale experience, (Chapter 6, Season 4). I managed to record about 12 minutes of gameplay for each mode, and honestly, I was surprised that my device could handle screen recording for that long without running out of storage—especially considering it only has 64GB of system storage. However, the screen recording did take a toll on FPS. Even without recording, there were significant frame rate drops, sometimes dipping below 10 FPS, making it tough to play smoothly. If you're looking for a more stable 30FPS experience, I'd recommend sticking to OG Battle Royale. During my tests, it seemed to stutter less than the new Star Wars-themed season of Fortnite. Regardless of the mode, the main lobby—the island where 100 players gather before dropping from the Battle Bus—is particularly laggy, and loading into a match can be rough. Surprisingly, the Nintendo Switch might actually be the better way to play. Even though it's locked at 30FPS, the performance dips aren’t nearly as severe compared to what I experienced on the iPhone! Thanks for watching!
