Streets of Vengeance

Really wanted to like this movie. It's a low budget feature, I think it had a $4000 budget, so they did the best with what they had. It's competently shot, definitely captures the vibe of the straight to video movies from the 80's. Unfortunately, the acting is terrible, even for b movie standards, and the plot is boring and drags on far too long. Best parts of the movie for me, was the awesome synth soundtrack, and Joanna Angel, who was a significantly better actress than the lead, but is relegated to a single flashback sequence. Even as a fan of trashy cinema, I strongly suggest giving this one a pass. I think the filmmakers had good intentions, but weren't able to pull it off.

No wait - fine ... no not true either. Mine? Well if I were one of the main characters that would be true I reckon - no pun intended. There is not much in the acting department that will get you too excited. You may know some of the female actresses however - especially one of the older characters. She has some experience (sorry for the pun). All that being said, the question is how much suspension of disbelief are you willing to share/to dish out? If you know you can go all the way with that ... maybe you can find something better than most did when they watched it. I've seen worse movies - and there are some interesting ideas, if you don't mind the theme that is.
