I have watched my fair share of horror films, from backyard "B" flicks to big budget horror. I ran across this movie at my local movie store, instead of renting it something told me to just buy it and add it to my collection. I usually do not buy horror sequels without first viewing it, but I thought "why not." From the time the movie came on it kept me entertained! I could not just stop watching it because I wanted to see what would happen next. Even though the movie has some painfully obvious moments, you just want to see it for myself. This movie has nothing new and/or original, while watching it you feel as if you have seen this storyline time and again, yet it was done in an entertaining, not really over-done fashion. The movie reminded me of The Hitcher meets Maximum Overdrive (without free thinking machines) meets The Car (though not a demon possessed car) meets Break Down with Kurt Russell. The lead antagonist does sound like Berry White like one review said, but he is only a guy with a deep voice. The other actors in the movie seem to keep the movie together and it is not at all over-acted. If you are looking for just some good thriller/horror fun with some splashes of gore effects and suspense on a Friday/Saturday night, then this would be great (my wife even thought it was entertaining/suspenseful and she is not a horror fan like I am). Do not listen to the 1 star reviews, from what I have read these people think a good horror movie is a teen scream fluff film like Disturbia or well… Scream… Take it from someone who has seen just about every horror and gore film including foreign; this is definitely not the worst movie on the block and seriously not worth a 1 star rating, I've seen so much worse, try an independent backyard Zombie movie for starters.

This DVD release was far better than I've waited, has some funny twists, and some good scenery points, looks better than average DVD releases, this film does not wants to be more like a good eighteen's nostalgia slasher, the first part was not too good in my opinion. This is rather a new version,is not really a after feeling of the original,it was my personal opinion, but all the way good fun,and I don't think it's radically only for slasher fans. This is also a comedy,a parody of slasher films like Vacancy 2,and American Psycho 2.And some other films. Maybe this film will be a better joy,if you sit down like now this will be a "for fun" teenager film. 6/10-If you know what you want to see.

Here comes another entry in the recent wave of direct-to-video sequels to horror movies released theatrically a few years ago. However, unlike "Wrong Turn 2" or "Hollow Man 2", this is not a sequel to a decent horror flick, but rather a followup to "Joy Ride", 2002's mediocre ripoff of "The Hitcher". Some room for improvement, then? Possibly. But in the hand of director Whatshisname, all wasted. The "plot", such as it is, carbon-copies all road chase movies that came before, from "Duel", to "Mirage", to the first "Joy Ride" - two couples, one car, one evil trucker. The dialogue repeats "Rusty Nail's" original quips, for those who need direct references to understand what they're watching, and the performances are exactly such as can be expected from a direct-to-video road slasher. However, since this one came out after "Hostel", there is of course a "torture" scene that is torturous to sit through - but only for the viewer, because of its boredom - and a chase so exciting I fell asleep through it twice. Then, a while later, comes a shot that seems to be the most exciting thing the director has ever seen in his life. The package comes complete with a "surprise" conclusion - stolen both from "Duel" *and* the original "Joy Ride's" alternate DVD ending - sure to surprise many viewers under the age of 7. (The ending and the dialogue isn't the only thing recycled from the original; this "sequel" steals even a deleted scene from its predecessor, only adding a "funny" line about jaws to it...) In other words, yet another cheap, idiotic video "sequel" to avoid.

Joy Ride 2 kicked ass! I was surprised at how professional the actors were in it. It had its gross parts, but it wasn't just a slasher film, it had terror, suspense and white knuckle thrills from start to finish! This film picks up where the first one finished, with the killer never being caught. He goes by the name "Rusty Nail" and he's a truck driver. In this sequel, two sisters Nicki Aycox(Perfect Stranger & Jeepers Creepers 2) and Laura Jordan(Thr3e) and their two boyfriends Nick Zano(Upcoming Final Destination 4 and One Tree Hill) and Kyle Schmid(The Covenant and the upcoming horror flick Deep Cove), are all heading to Vegas and after car trouble, they come across a abandoned house and decide to take the car. Not knowing that the house belongs to the psychopath, one of the guys is taken and the other three do whatever they can to stay alive. You should check this flick out to witness a gruesome chase from beginning to end in this blood drenched sequel.

Completely predictable if you have seen some other road thriller movies. Just for fun and pop corn. You can predict who will die from the first 15minutes and maybe the exact order. Actually i laughed more than scared. Nothing different. The first Joy ride much better. The acting is quite ridiculous and the script too. Also very funny this "scary" guy that never showed his face! Actually ,the track is the leading actor in the film. The only thing that worth to see is the falling and explosion of the track at the end of the movie. This was the most interesting to watch. Maybe another good moment was the scene with the striptease.

The only good thing about this film are the death scenes and there not even that great, certainly not enough to save it. The story was beyond ridiculous, after the boyfriend goes missing why didn't they just go straight to the cops, I mean they know where the guy lives?? Oh no, much better to blindly do exactly as asked of them by an obviously disturbed psycho! I had to sit there trying not to laugh at the absurdity of it all but it wasn't so bad it was funny ala Troll 2 it was just irritating. I can normally stand average\poor horrors but this film was horrific for the wrong reason, avoid.

As a true horror film fan, I thought this sequel might be somewhat enjoyable. Wow, was I mistaken, or rather taken for a ride. Suspense? Nope. Ingenuity? Nope. Enjoyability? Zero. After suffering through this film (and I use the word "film" lightly) I really wished I had done something else. Perhaps pouring salt in my eyes while listening to an old Barry Manilow tape at maximum volume would have been better. This piece of garbage should be a resounding cry for institutionalization. The people involved with creating this mess as well as the misguided minds that enjoy it do not belong in a civilized society. Torture is not a joke or to be taken lightly and watching this film was pure torture. Plotwise, it is on the level of a demented teenager's sick rape-filled wet dream. Acting is akin to a bad cat food commercial. Predictable and stupid, violent for the sake of prurience, and absolutely no redeeming quality whatsoever. I simply cannot say enough bad about this steaming pile. Two hours of my life wasted.
