Rain and a delay under the floodlights changed the equation dramatically. When play resumed, New Zealand were set a revised target of 200 runs from 39 overs. The home side responded brilliantly. Matt Horne anchored the chase with a composed 57 from 62 balls, hitting five boundaries, while Craig McMillan produced the innings of the match with an aggressive 73 from 76 balls, including eight fours. Their partnership gave New Zealand the momentum they needed. Chris Cairns added a valuable 23, while Adam Parore remained unbeaten on 16 as New Zealand kept their chase under control despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Javagal Srinath was India's most successful bowler with 2 for 35, while Sachin Tendulkar also claimed a wicket. New Zealand eventually reached 200 for 5 in 38 overs, completing a memorable five-wicket victory under the Duckworth-Lewis method. A classic 1990s ODI featuring rain, Duckworth-Lewis drama, aggressive New Zealand batting and a memorable victory at Taupo. #NewZealand #India #CraigMcMillan #MattHorne #ODICricket #CricketHighlights #ClassicCricket #DuckworthLewis #NewZealandCricket
