A Walk in the Clouds

A simple message, explaining and expanding that the fabric of happiness is woven with love. I just liked the authenticity and heartfelt story line potraid here.

The criticism of Keanu's performance when this film first came out was so wrong. The performances from the whole cast were superb and the setting breathtaking. I think this is a classic and definitely ages each like a fine wine. Don't miss this movie. It is a reminder of all that is good.

I found this little gem of a movie while stuck at home during COVID-19 Shelter in Place. I love it so much that I ended up buying it and watch it over and over, especially those romantic scenes. All of the acting is superb, especially the angry father and Anthony Quinn as the friendly grandfather. I watch it to feel good. The music soundtrack is intoxicating and top notch, reminding me a bit of Dr. Zhivago's soundtrack. I wish I knew what happened next in their story. Oh well!

Some spoilers The first half of this movie is actually quite enjoyable with Keanu Reeves getting involved in a situation which ideally suits his 'where am I' expression. I've never seen a movie with so many camera filters and after a while one wonders if this is supposed to be some kind of fable with Keanu Reeves waking up at the end as Dorothy does in the Wizard of Oz. Apparently the original Italian movie has much more depressing (realistic) end Unfortunately the movie becomes very laughable towards the end which some people interpret as romantic. The fire scene is unbelievable - did they drench the vines with gas/petrol? A good tip for arsonists use vines and the place will burn within seconds. This also contradicts the earlier scene when they try to save the grapes from the frost with lots of fires burning!? Anthony Quinn is not bad in a role he's done over and over again and the lush music fits the visuals pretty well.
