Dineo is the definition of serial monogamist. She dates to fall in love; she falls in love to get married. But she never gets married. She always ends up being dumped. When she meets Lunga Sibiya, he seems to be the man she's waited her whole life for, a man who shares her values when it comes to love and relationships. Or so she thinks - Until she accidentally finds out that the man she was busy planning her forever with, had been planning his forever with someone else. After a messy breakup with Lunga, her commitment-phobic bestie, Noni, helps Dineo face what she dreads most: life as a single woman. Forced to move out of Lunga's apartment, Dineo seeks refuge with Noni. But letting go of another failed relationship is hard for Dineo. Now at her lowest point, Noni encourages Dineo to enjoy the spoils of singledom. Have fun. Meet new people. Become her own person. It's an intimidating notion for Dineo. She hasn't been single in years. But Noni is happy to be her guide. Together, they take the city night life by storm. But love is a difficult thing to avoid: Noni unexpectedly finds herself falling for an unlikely man and Dineo struggles to sidestep the traps of her romantic flaws. This is further complicated when Lunga realises the mistake he's made and declares his undying love to Dineo, wanting her back. Is Dineo strong enough to honour the new version of herself or will her fear of loneliness have her running back into Lunga's arms?

I just enjoyed this movie. I laughted, was sad and celebrated with them. This was a wonderful in your face reality for singles everywhere. A must watch!

Typical romantic comedy but I appreciate seeing this culture. It was cute to me.

Surprised this hasn't got more positive reviews here. Great job from the cast and crew.

Not a great film but a lot of fun to watch. I appreciate being able to see something from someplace other than Hollywood. I thought the two actresses were terrific, and what is up with their fabulous fashions? I haven't seen anything like that in the states!

First of all, a movie such as this usually falls somewhat outside of my preference of movies to watch. But I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it, and given the fact that I hadn't already seen it, I thought I might give the movie a chance, even without ever having heard of the movie prior to now. Well, "Seriously Single" from writer Lwazi Mvusi happened to be a very straightforward, although very generic, romantic comedy, for better or worse. Of course there is a an audience out there for a sappy movie such as this. But yeah, it falls into the category of once-you've-seen-one-movie-like-this-you've-essentially-seen-them all. Yup, it was that much of a step-by-step manuscript of how-to-make-a-romcom. The acting in the movie was adequate, taking into consideration the type of movie that it was, and the limitations of the script and storyline. I wasn't familiar with a single actress or actor in the movie, which was something that actually worked out well for me. "Seriously Single" was adequately entertaining, although it was by no account an outstanding movie. My rating of directors Katleho Ramaphakela and Rethabile Ramaphakela's movie is a bland and mediocre five out of ten stars.

I just want to know, why do you folks keep making these bad movies? Such a bad representation of South African talent and potential. Please stop with these D grade movies. A supposed comedy that doesn't make you laugh not once. Such poor acting, terrible script. Such a waste of data. Hay suka maan!

One must understand the culture and humour behind the movie to truly appreciate it. Rom-com recipe to the T aside, it's an excellent production, funny, and great seeing familiar places and people.

Excellent way to engage the audience the entire way through by using a lot of humour and making u feel uncomfortable by challenging the boundaries of what u usually see on tv. Like seeing black women take off their wigs or throw a punch, but also fall in love and hurt and dance and cry and scream it was very empowering to see them as complete humans with flaws and wins. Would definitely recommend
